Welcome to the
Home of F.C. St. George.
F.C. St. George were formed in July 2000 and registered to compete in the
Notts Combination Football League Division 4 at the start of that season.
It was a league that they took by storm. In the 12 league games that season
St George took on all in there path dropping just 2 points all season and
scoring 69 goals in the process and conceding just 13.
This site details all 4 seasons of their existence, following the many highs
and a few lows also, on the way to being crowned Premier Division Champions
in the 2002 - 2003 season.
The
2000 - 2001 season proved to be an amazing success as F.C. St George
went the whole league campaign unbeaten, players such as Warren Pickance,
Karl Theakstone, Dave Savidge & Phil Massingham to name just a few, led
the way as there fluent brand of attacking football took on and conquered
all to claim the first of 3 league titles. However, this wasn't just a 4 man
show, although the previously mentioned players captured most of the headlines
they were backed up by a strong talented squad whose desire to not just win,
but to win playing a flowing attacking brand of football, is not often seen
in Sunday morning football.
Browse through the site, taking in the match reports, league tables etc and
follow the fantastic rise and eventual fall of St George. During the course
of the 4 seasons St George used in excess of 40 players, each players contribution
is detailed from there 4 season stats to some fantastic and unique player
profiles provided by Club Chairman Jason Simpkins, as only he could.
